A Summer Morning

A mystical fog wafts over the pond,

Over and thru fields of corn;

Blurring tree lines and hiding rooftops.

The world seems small with its ceiling and walls;

And the earth is quiet and still;

I find peace in the silence.

Dewdrops adorn the fence;

A lone hay bale compliments the serenity;

And a stink bug sits with anticipation of a new day.

As sunbeams break thru…

Golden leaves, like glitter, gracefully dance their way to the ground;

As the rising sun warms the air,

And the fog begins to fade.

A joining of earth and heaven.
