Thank You, God

… for the voices in my kitchen.

I never want to take these moments for granted. I realize life can change in a heartbeat.

Yesterday morning I went to my doctor’s appointment. When I got home, I went to my room to change my clothes as I was going to spend the rest of the day with two of my kids. Lucky me!

My kids let themselves in and I heard them talking and laughing from my room. I thought how wonderful that was to hear. And I thanked God.

I know all too well what it’s like not to hear the voices of ones you love. Loss and separation come in a variety of ways. Silence isn’t exclusive to death.

So I will cherish these moments.

James 1:17a: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…”

I think it’s a good and perfect gift to over-hear the conversation between my adult children. I love to hear their laughter as they share old movie lines and jokes and discuss real life issues.

We had a wonderful day together. Thank you, God, for these moments.

I’m a mom of six amazing kids. They have blessed me with six grandchildren. I love the outdoors. I am a country girl through and through. There I find a closeness with God and am inspired. Writing is my passion.
